Lezley Saar Lezley Saar (b. 1953, Los Angeles, lives and works in Los Angeles) is the daughter of artists Richard and Betye Saar. She works across paintings, drawings, book-works, photography, banners, collages, dioramas, and installations, exploring notions of identity, race, gender, beauty, mysticism, sanity, and normalcy. Her works are held in the collections of LACMA, MoCA Los Angeles, the Studio Museum in Harlem, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, among others.
