VSF is proud to announce our debut participation in the Galleries sector of Art Basel Miami. Featuring iconic, historic Dentos by Billy Al Bengston alongside new works by gallery artists Diedrick Brackens, Dianna Molzan, and a’driane nieves, and introducing works by Japanese painter, Yu Kobayashi, and Los Angeles-based Wixárika interdisciplinary artist and weaver, Sarah Rosalena, our presentation highlights abstraction as a global human practice and de-centers hegemonic modernist myth-making around this formal and conceptual strategy. Presented on onyx walls, our booth design winks at Malevich’s 1915 Black Square and seeks to de-center Eurocentric conversations about abstraction in favor of several threads from diverse origins that are ready to be spun into a myriad of histories and futures.
